Lewis Hamilton has said that he would have loved to race against Michael Schumacher this season, and that last year he was thinking he might just get the chance. However it was not to be, with Schumacher retiring at the end of the 2006 season after a long 15 year career, in which he stood on the top step of the podium 91 times.
In a recent interview Hamilton said, "When I heard that he was retiring, I said: 'Damn, please Michael keep going for another season and we'll have some great races against each other'
"I met him last year before the Turkish Grand Prix and I was impressed because I'd heard that he was arrogant and not very nice but he took the time to talk to me and I was really honoured.
"
Hamilton, the curent Formula One Drivers Championship points leader said he would also have loved to race against the legendary Ayrton Senna.
"They are men and drivers who inspire a lot of respect from me," added the Briton.
